56-Equipment Replacement - Replace Tour Road Gates -

The primary objective of the project is to remove and replace three large 30+ year old wood gates. The gates are along the tour roads and visitor center entrance. The gates are used to control access to the park after hours. They are also used during unsafe road conditions. These wood swing gates will be replaced with automatic barrier gates that adhere to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) standards. The Gate replacement will reduce parking violations. Also, allow visitors to exit the park and not enter after the park has closed. Additionally, the automatic gates will provide emergency vehicles to enter the park after operating hours without having to cut locks.
