Description

The Government awarded a firm-fixed price contract via an VA FSS contract but did not compete due to the following rationale: The requested Boston Scientific Lumenis UltraPulse Duo laser system is to replace an end of life laser currently in use in the operating suite at West Roxbury. The laser is the only FDA cleared C02 laser currently available in the commercial market that has the capability to deliver two distinct energy deliver pulse modes: Continuous Wave and UltraPulse. This capability gives surgeons the ability to choose which power mode is the best application for the patient; thereby, ensuring a well balanced thermal impact to control the amount of hemostasis and as a result, produce better results.
