Gov Contract Finder adds a toolbar to supported SAM.gov opportunity pages. For notices available in the system, it provides controls for saving, finding similar contracts, and opening AI bid assistance in the web app. The toolbar also shows whether the notice is in the system. The extension supports SAM.gov; it does not add tools to state and local procurement sites.
Is the extension free to install?
Yes. The extension is free to install from the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, or Firefox Add-ons. Saving to your account and using the connected software tools require a Gov Contract Finder account with an active paid plan. Installing the extension does not create a SAM.gov account or register your business.
Why are the tools missing on a SAM.gov notice?
The toolbar checks whether the notice is available in Gov Contract Finder. If it is not in the system, the extension displays a notice that tools may take 24 hours to become available. Check that you are on a supported opportunity detail page and that you are signed in to Gov Contract Finder for account actions.
What happens when I open AI bid assistance?
The extension saves the supported opportunity to your Gov Contract Finder account, then opens the web app’s bid assistant for that record. Proposal work happens in the web app and depends on your plan access. Review the original solicitation and verify any AI-generated work before using it.
Can I access saved opportunities on my phone?
Opportunities saved to your Gov Contract Finder account are available through the connected web dashboard and mobile app. Use the same account and workspace. The browser extension itself is for supported desktop browsers.
What permissions does the extension use?
The extension declares storage and tabs permissions. Its content scripts run on SAM.gov and the Gov Contract Finder web app for notice detection and account connection. Local storage holds session-related values, preferences, and temporary opportunity or notification state. Saved account records are sent to Gov Contract Finder. Review the extension privacy policy and your browser’s installation prompt for details.
