Description

Award of a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Rolls-Royce/MTU in the amount of $40,621.28 for technical services to troubleshoot and repair the Number 2 Main Diesel Engine Governor onboard the CGC Stratton while moored in Honolulu, Hawaii. Rolls-Royce/MTU is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the only vendor with the specialized tooling and technical expertise to perform the required repairs to address fuel rack piston errors, governor errors, and monitoring systems errors, followed by a complete inspection. This action was conducted using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and was awarded on a sole-source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii) due to Rolls-Royce/MTU's proprietary rights and unique technical capabilities.
