Description
The National Park Service (NPS) at Lava Beds National Monument (LABE) has a requirement for the installation of fiber optic cables. Fiber will be installed to improve the connectivity between buildings around LABE headquarters. The pre-existing conduit will be utilized but an addition of a new conduit will cover the remaining route for the new fiber optic cable. The conduits must be flexible metallic, or electrical metallic, or PVC Schedule 40 electrical conduit to protect against rodents and other natural damage. The installation of the fiber optics is critical to maintaining connectivity to park administration, including facilities, integrated resources, fire operations, emergency operations center, and park headquarters.
