Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Transformer Replacements ? Buildings 3, 5, 71, 101 and Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOVCD) Feasibility Study, Washington, D.C.

This amendment contains three (3) attachments. The Government intends to award a task order for Architect/Engineering (A/E) Services in support of upgrading electrical transformers in Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Buildings 3, 5, 71, and 101. Building 101 houses laboratories and offices for several different NRL research divisions, including the Plasma Physics Division, Acoustics Division, and Material Science and Technology Division. These replacements are part of a multi-year plan developed by NRL to upgrade electrical distribution throughout campus facilities. In all cases, the age of the transformers and switchgears have resulted in corrosion of the housing. This corrosion is allowing rainwater infiltration, which in turn is causing the electrical connection to short out and cause po
