Description
The acquisition of switchgear for the government's requirements falls under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, which states that only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. In this case, market research has confirmed that this requirement can only be met by Siemens brand name only (BNO) iso-phase GIS that eliminates phase-to-phase faults and arc flash, along with its accompanying OEM warranty. The switchgear must be purchased directly from Siemens, and a Siemens Factory Certified Assembly Supervisor must be present during installation to maintain the OEM warranty. This requirement can only be met through the OEM, Siemens, as they will not partner with another vendor to provide Siemens Factory Certified Assembly Supervisor subcontractor service
