Description
1. GENERAL: The James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, located at 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, Florida 33612, requires one (1) new Advanced surgical microscope for the Otolaryngology Clinic. 2. BACKGROUND: Currently, the only surgical microscope at the facility meeting the needs of both the Neurosurgical and Otolaryngology sections is the Zeiss Kinevo. The Kinevo microscope has traditionally been primarily used by Neurosurgery. Since the Otolaryngology section began performing microvascular reconstructions, both sections have had to share this microscope. Sharing has led to multiple scheduling conflicts, resulting in delayed surgical care and, in some cases, Veterans being referred to community care due to extended wait times.
