SDVOSB FAQ

Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) certification verifies that a small business is at least 51% owned by veterans with service-connected disabilities. The federal government has a 3% goal for SDVOSB contract awards.
Apply through the SBA's Veteran Small Business Certification (VetCert) program at Veterans.certify.sba.gov. You'll need to document your service-connected disability rating from the VA, ownership structure, and daily control of business operations.
Benefits include access to SDVOSB set-aside contracts, sole-source contracts up to $5 million, priority for VA contracts under the Veterans First program, and subcontracting opportunities with large primes meeting their SDVOSB subcontracting goals.
Any service-connected disability rating from the VA qualifies, even 0%. The disability must be documented by the VA. There is no minimum percentage requirement for SDVOSB certification.
