Background and Purpose The FirstNet Authority is an independent authority within the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). The FirstNet Authority was established under the Middle-Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 to ensure the deployment and operation of a interoperable Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network (NPSBN) dedicated to public safety. The NPSBN supports mission-critical communications for first responders across all 56 U.S. states and territories. Over the past 8 years, the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has used the OneStream Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) platform to provide its financial close and consolidation, planning, reporting, analytics and account reconciliation. The platform delivers standardized report packages, automated validation rules, and structured submission workflows that enhance data quality and enforce consistent financial governance across the organization. Through its automation capabilities, configurable data models, and audit?ready workflow and trail features, the platform has improved accuracy, reduced cycle time, and strengthened transparency in FirstNet Authority’s financial planning and reporting activities. These capabilities represent the core functionality FirstNet Authority has implemented to date, which has formed the foundation for FirstNet Authority’s ongoing transformation toward more efficient and reliable enterprise financial management.
