Scopes under this contract includes: Construction of a new Master Substation Building (B017S) ; Installation of new medium-voltage switchgears (provided by SLAC as Government Furnished Property); Relocation of an existing generator; Replacement of an existing substation; Installation of new busways connecting existing and new tie breakers; and Reconnection of 12kV cables within existing substation building to the newly installed building. As the existing Building B016 s must remain functional throughout construction, the work must be carefully planned and coordinated to protect existing systems, maintain laboratory operations, and minimize electrical service interruptions. DRAFT REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL The Master Substation Annex Building has an estimated cost range of $12M to $17M. SLAC will use a Best Value Trade Off selection method to identify the most qualified design-build subcontractor. The draft Request for Proposal and relevant references are provided to present the general scope and acquisition method for the project. This Sources Sought Notice is NOT A SOLICITATION, but instead is to identify interested vendors for the upcoming formal solicitation release.
