Definition

A DBA (Doing Business As) or trade name is a name under which a company conducts business that differs from its legal name. For example, "Smith Consulting LLC" might operate as "Federal Solutions." DBAs can be registered in SAM.gov but the legal name must still be validated against IRS records.
