REQUIREMENTS FOR PCR TESTING - MICROBIOLOGY PATHOLOGY AND LABORATORY MEDICINE SERVICE WPB VAHCS INTRODUCTION: The microbiology department of the Pathology and Laboratory Service within the WPB VAHCS needs a lease/reagent rental (cost per kit/test) agreement to cover equipment, service calls (including routine maintenance beyond manufacturer recommended user maintenance), reagents and consumables. Testing is for real-time PCR nucleic acid analysis to rapidly detect (at the minimum): Clostridium difficile including the Epidemic 027 Strain from stool (CDT), Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) from nasal swabs, SARS-CoV-2, FLU A&B/RSV virus and Chlamydia trachomatis (CT)/Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG) from male and female urine, vaginal or endocervical swabs.
