Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has a project that involves erecting a platform on the exterior of the Control Tower at Crooked Creek Lake located in Armstrong County, PA. The purpose of the platform is to facilitate maintenance on the previously installed jib crane which is otherwise inaccessible to workers. The timing of this contract coincides with new OSHA requirements involving ladders and fall protection. Therefore, while not necessarily part of erecting a platform, updates to the exterior ladder in the vicinity of the platform are made as well while the Contractor is mobilized. The jib crane on the exterior of the Control Tower is the only means of raising and lowering the stoplogs in the raking platform of the tower. This crane has not been regularly maintain
