Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking a Contractor to perform a complete diagnostic inspection, maintenance and repairs on the spud system of the USACE Crane Barge Leonard. The CB Leonard was constructed in 1998 and is equipped with a 75-ton crane. The spud system uses hydraulic pumps and electric winches to lower and raise a pair of ?spuds?, each weighing 28,500 lbs, to and from the river bottom, to hold the barge in place against the current during crane operations. The Contractor will perform a full inspection of all system components, perform maintenance and repairs necessary to eliminate all system chattering and excessive vibration (notable in one spud), and replace both inoperable deck control stations with new, fully functional controls. The work will take place aboard the CB
