Description

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has a requirement to obtain Automatic Identification System (AIS) data for designated regions/ports of Alaska 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The AIS data will be validated, stored, and used by the USCG and shared with Nationwide Automatic Identification System (NAIS) customers in addition to Federal, State, and Local agencies. The current NAIS system includes 03 terrestrial AIS sites located in the ports of Valdez, Anchorage and Juneau in the D17 (Alaska) area of responsibility (AOR) but requires supplemental AIS data from a third-party source in order to meet all operational requirements for D17.
