Notice of Intent for D2 Tool Steel Electro Slag Remelt (ESR) Bars

The Department of Treasury, Treasury Common Services Center (TCSC)-Acquisition Services intends to award a sole source Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract on behalf of the Office of Engraving. The contract will procure D2 Tool Steel Electro Slag Remelt (ESR) Bars a vital raw material used for production of Surface Pieces, which are then used for printing United States (U.S.) currency at the BEP Washington, D.C. and Fort Worth, T.X. facilities. Redding Steel, LLC is the only tested and approved source capable of manufacturing D2 Tool Steel ESR bars that meet the specifications in Attachment A (Appendix A-Drawing D2 Steel Tool Bars Dimensions & Tolerances).
