The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District intends to solicit a fixed price contract for repairs to the Drift Collection Vessel (DCV) Hayward. The solicitation will be restricted to shipyards within the boundary deemed safely navigable to reach by the DCV Hayward in its current condition. DCV Haywards starboard shaft bearing liner has become corroded to the point that it is no longer serviceable. Because Hayward only has one shaft operational, she will be limited in transit range to the NY Harbor. DCV Hayward is currently berthed at Caven Point Marine Temrinal in Jersey City, NJ and may require tug assistance to get to contractor facility for repairs.
