This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available and telephone requests will not be honored. There is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The U.S. Department of Navy, Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Contracting Division intends to enter into a sole source contract with IPG Photonics Corporation (IPG), in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 1901 as implemented by FAR 12.102, for the procurement and installation of high-power continuous wave (CW) lasers. This brand-name requirement is deemed available only from the manufacturer, IPG, as market research has determined that IPG is the only manufacturer capable of meeting the Government's high
