Notice of Intent to Sole Source: Process Safety Workshop

1. Introduction & Authority The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Hanford Field Office (HFO), intends to award a non-competitive, firm-fixed-price contract to the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Academy (doing business as AIChE). This acquisition is conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 ("Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements"), as implemented through the simplified acquisition procedures of FAR 13.106-1(b). 2. Description of Requirement DOE requires a comprehensive, customized 4-day "Process Safety Boot Camp" training workshop. This intensive training is necessary to build specialized Process Safety Management (PSM) skillsets internally for federal safety oversight staff involved with the Hanford Direct-Feed L
