Description
The 55th Contracting Squadron has an ongoing to to acquire a P-51D Gunfighter aircraft for the 2026 Offutt AFB "Defenders of Freedom" Air and Space Show. Show dates are August 8th and August 9th, 2026. Responsibilities include a 10-15 minute aerial demonstration for each show date. When not performing, the P-51D Gunfighter shall assume the role of a static display with crew available to engage with spectators. As this is for Offutt, the government requires the paint scheme to reflect the colors of the 55th Fighter Wing during World War II. The paint scheme of the aircraft shall also be in accordance with AFMAN 10-1004, paragraph 4.2.4.
