SCOPE OF WORK: 1. Surface preparation: i. Remove any visible oil, grease or salt contaminants. ii. All steel surfaces must be prepared in accordance with SSPC-SP 2 (Hand Tool Cleaning), SSPC-SP 3 (Power Tool Cleaning) and SSPC-SP 11 (Power-Tool Cleaning to Bare Metal) Standards. SP11 must only take place when necessary. Following hand and power tool cleaning, all surfaces must be brushed, blown clean with compressed air or vacuumed to remove all dust, and debris before the application of any coating. The Contractor must prevent the migration of debris, paint chips and dust to adjacent properties. All debris must be collected at the end of each workday.
