Pre-Solicitation NoticeThe New York District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (District) is preparing plans and specifications for construction of the Rockaway Contract 3 ADA cross over. DESCRIPTION: The East Rockaway Inlet to Rockaway Inlet (or Rockaway) project area is in the Borough of Queens, New York City. The Atlantic Oceanfront shoreline, which is a peninsula approximately 10 miles in length, generally referred to as the Rockaways, separates the Atlantic Ocean from Jamaica Bay immediately to the north. This project, Rockaway Contract 3, includes the following: nine elevated, timber, pedestrian crossover structures that will provide ADA access to the beach, sand fence and dune vegetation will be added to the localized areas of the ADA structures.
