Description
The Hydrographic Survey Section, Portland District (NWP), relies on the NORBIT STX multibeam sonar to collect current, high-resolution survey data in support of the districts navigation mission. The system is designed for efficient mapping in shallow and mid-water depths and operates at a nominal frequency of 400 kHz, with frequency agility from 200 kHz to 700 kHz to support a range of survey conditions and operational requirements. Its compact, durable design supports rapid deployment and efficient integration aboard survey vessels. The NORBIT STX is normally operated aboard the survey vessel Beeman in Coos Bay.
