X-ray Diffractometer

CBP has a requirement on a sole source basis to obtain a replacement x-ray diffractometer (XRD) system, which is a system that utilizes a non-destructive chemistry technique for qualification and quantification of organic and inorganic samples to determine the crystal structure and crystal structure of those unknown compounds. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 entitled, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The contractor for this acquisition is Malvern Panalytical.
