INTRODUCTION The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting proposals and subsequently awarding a single firm-fixed-price contract for the design-bid-build NRM construction project #636A6-22-500, Modernize Elevators, at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS) located at 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50310-5753. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The purpose is to modernize the elevator components and controls for elevators known as: A-East (Passenger), A-West (Passenger), B-Passenger, B-Service, C-Passenger, D-Passenger, E- Passenger, and K-Freight to ensure they meet the present codes and directives for safety and operation. Modernization includes but is not limited to installing new controls
