NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE TO TELEFONICA DE ESPAA FOR WIRED TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES

This is a notice of the Governments intent to issue a sole source contract to Telefonca de Espaa with a ROM of $3.8M for wired telecommunication services for Naval Station Rota, Spain. The ducting infrastructure and copper cabling installed on Naval Base Rota (Cdiz) is owned by and leased from Telefonca de Espaa (Telefonca). Over the half century since it was established, Naval Station Rota and the Department of Defense have consistently executed contracts with Telefonca that included the installation of a buried conduit systems and associated cable infrastructure with an approximate value of $20M that remained the property of the company.
