How we create, verify, and maintain government contracting content
Definition
Our editorial standards ensure every piece of content on GCFinder is accurate, current, and sourced from official government publications. We prioritize clarity and factual integrity over opinion.
Content Standards
Official Sources First
All factual claims reference official .gov sources including SAM.gov, SBA.gov, FAR/DFARS, GSA.gov, and USAspending.gov. When third-party sources are used, we clearly label them.
Expert Review
Content about regulations, certifications, and compliance is reviewed by professionals with direct government contracting experience. Reviewers are credited on applicable pages.
Regular Updates
Government contracting rules change frequently. We review published content on a rolling basis and display "Data as of" or "Last verified" dates so readers know how current the information is.
Transparent Corrections
When errors are identified, we correct them promptly. Material corrections are noted on the affected page. Readers can report inaccuracies through our contact page.
How We Create Different Content Types
Guides
Comprehensive guides (1,500+ words) go through a multi-step process: topic research using official sources, outline review, writing, fact-checking against primary .gov sources, and editorial review before publication.
Answers (Q&A)
Quick answers are designed for direct, concise responses to common questions. Each answer cites an official source and links to a parent guide for deeper context. Answers under 100 words are marked as thin content and excluded from search indexing.
Glossary Terms
Definitions are sourced from official government publications (FAR, SBA guidelines, GSA resources). Each term includes a short definition for quick reference and a detailed explanation for context.
Comparison & Review Pages
Platform comparisons are based on publicly available information, documented pricing, and feature sets. We clearly disclose that GCFinder is our product. Competitor information is verified against their official websites.

Use of AI in Content Creation
We use AI tools to assist with content drafting, data analysis, and summarization. However, all AI-generated content is reviewed and verified by human editors before publication.
AI is never the sole source of factual claims. All statistics, regulations, and procedural information are verified against official sources regardless of how the initial draft was produced.
Our blog articles that use AI assistance are clearly labeled.
