Ditch 19 Channel Cleanout: The purpose of this project is to reduce flood risk to the surrounding agricultural land and homes result from flood events occurring along Ditch 19 in the St. Francis River Basin in Dunklin County, Missouri.Channel cleanout will be conducted on a total of 12.6 miles of the 35-mile section that was studied as part of this project. Clearing and snagging will be performed as needed in areas where debris is diverting channel flow. Shoaling will be removed in areas where entire channel cleanout may not be warranted. USACE MVM has perpetual easements or the Drainage District No. 1 of Dunklin County owns the area within the project limits. Trees within the banks of the ditch can be removed without environmental issues. Bat surveys are required.
