Description
Hurricane Helene winds damaged approximately 25 acres on Roan Mountain and has increased the fuel loading in the spruce-fir ecosystem. Work includes cutting and removing all damaged trees within the cutting unit boundary totaling 25 acres. Sawtimber, pulpwood and biomass products will be removed from the site. Including trees chunked to open the Toll House Gap Road. Sawtimber, pulpwood, and biomass will be removed and paid at an appraised rate on a weighted average. Contractor will be required to leave some amount of stems per acre with no branches for woody debris. Estimated Timber Volume and Species composition is as follows: Mixed Hardwood and Softwood Sawtimber estimated 250 Tons Mixed Hardwood and Softwood Pulpwood estimated 150 Tons Mixed Hardwood and Softwood Biomass estimated 250 T
